2.  Sabeel Organizing Group Meeting: Is there interest in our community for a Sabeel Conference 2011? Wed. 25th May at the NM Peace Justice Offices - Harvard and Silver. 7:00 pm.


While we come to the end of our No-Show Pilgrimage for 2011, we still have a very long way to go. In order to educate our communities about what Mark Braverman termed today's 'Call to the Church', the saving of the Israeli Soul, we need to increase the volume. It won't be easy to insist that our nation face the fact that Palestinians and Israelis are brothers, that mankind as we know it cannot exist if Israel continues on this course of exclusion, military might and apartheid like social norms.


Israel needs to hear us from the choirs of the Catholic churches, from the pulpits of the Presbyterian churches, from the mountaintops of the Mormon tabernacles, from the elders of the Evangelical movements, from the lawyers at the legislature, from activist atheists - 'Turn away from this path.'

From the beginning of time, mankind has struggled with autonomous rights of statehood for various groups. Israel's course down this path is one of the cruelest campaigns in modern times. We need to redirect this course. Israel cannot continue to wreck havoc on the lives and livelihoods of their Palestinian citizens. They must stop the cruel treatment of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories and Gaza. As human beings, we cannot turn our eyes away from the systematic destruction of the Palestinians. Look now, read up now, get involved now. Not to direct any anger or resentments, but to save the soul of Israel, save Palestine.

Raise up the call to 'Fall the Wall Now!' Help the Prince of Peace Social Justice Committee take one step together in commitment to this.  Contribute to the creation of a water purification tank at a Palestinian elementary school.
